Students Asked to Perform at "Back to Bandstand" Reunion
September 7, 2008
On Sunday, September 7, several students from our upper grades were selected to dance at the "Back to Bandstand" extravaganza. This swinging event featured famous performers from the good old days. They met at the original Bandstand studio and were given a platform to reminisce about their golden years. The night's festivities were hosted by Diane Brown, a radio and TV personality who was on Bandstand many years ago. In attendance were Chubby Checker, Harvey Faqua, Bunny Sigler, the members of First Class, and Don Gardner.
Our students especially enjoyed being invited to learn dance steps for "The Twist" from none other than Chubby Checker himself. It was truly an evening to remember!
